I delivered a keynote examining the megatrends likely to shape the future of health and medicine, and what those shifts may mean for providers, patients and the wider health system. The presentation explored the combined effects of demographic change, workforce pressure, technology, rising complexity and changing expectations of care. I used foresight to help the audience think more systematically about the long-term future of health, and about how today’s decisions may need to evolve in response to a very different operating environment.
